WordCamp Birmingham 2009 is a success

This years WordCamp Birmingham was a well attended and many thanks to the sponsors. Being a beginner in the blogging, I found a lot of useful stuff in the beginner sessions.

Wade Kwon, as always, gave a great topic on ethics in blogging. My social media conversations have been all over the board to start until I find my brand and passion. With that being said, the real conversations will have some ethical standards. Todays topics covered some basics. If you missed out, check out The Birmingham Blogging Academy where you will find Wade.

Brett Bumetter gave a really interesting presentation on creating a WordPress layout in minutes. The process didn’t look too complicated even for a beginner like me. I believe Brett said he was from Charlotte, NC and designs blog layouts for individuals and companies. His company is Softduit Media.

There were many of the people from BarCamp here today at WordCamp. It is great to see people networking, sharing ideas and tips, and brainstorming new discoveries. It was good to see Dave Barger, Tammy Hart, Andre Natta, John Garret, and a few others. For me this is all about learning and developing my interests in Social Media and most importantly making some long lasting friendships.

  1. Thank you so much for joining in our conversation on ethics. The slides — which you helped write — are available on the Birmingham Blogging Academy site.

  2. Hey Scott,

Glad you found my little presentation interesting. :) It is really very easy, even for beginners, especially for beginners!

I was a beginner when I started designing themes 10 months ago, and now it is a major and consistent part of my business. If you are a blogger or even an aspiring theme designer or web designer, this is really a great process and Artisteer is a great tool.

In case you missed it, I’m holding a contest to win a free license this month. :)
